And the Lord Sayeth, Ponderize

It is interesting to me how people say that “money makes the world go round” and others say “money can’t buy happiness”, but I’m sure the people that stated those quotes were trying to make money from those quotes or outside of those quotes. The point I am trying to make is that no matter who you are you are always seeking ways to make more money, and in this case it was a religious leader. I for one am not Mormon but have attended general conference before with some friends that allowed me to tag along. The talks given at general conference are strong, and empowering to those who stay awake to hear them. When I heard about the Ponderize case I found it odd, it did seem like a good lesson to teach others but it seemed like it had a different meaning behind it. Here you can view the speech in full, where from the moment the speech starts you get a sense of money and how to make it. I was never aware of what happens after a general conference but apparently many members begin using wha...

God gets 10%, Why should you get 18%

Oh Pastor Bell, is 6 extra dollars to a 35 dollar meal really too much for Applebees to ask? I have heard that if you can’t afford to leave a tip than you shouldn’t go out for dinner. Looking at it from a scholarly view it is not legal, in most states, to apply a mandatory tip to any meal. For example, here in Utah a mandatory tip is not legal. I know that whenever I go out to dinner I will not be charged a mandatory tip, but my wife once was a waitress and has explained to me the need of getting a good tip. In states where tips are not mandatory, but allowed to be given to employees, employees are payed $2.13 an hour. A low amount, but since they are allowed to accept tips both the hourly wage and tips must amount to the minimum wage of $7.25 and hour. If the minimum wage is not met than the owner of the establishment must compensate the employees to meet the minimum amount, you can read more about it here .   On a personal note I just want to say that I have never worked at...

Anthony Weiner

We have discussed in class that anything you put on the internet is open for the world to see. I know that if I want to find out more about someone I can simply google them and likely find a Facebook profile or another platform that will tell me more about them. By simply looking up Anthony Weiner we can learn many things about him. A well-established political figure that belongs to the democratic party, but a certain blemish seems to take over Anthony’s name. Anthony was proven guilty for a sexting scandal in September of 2017. When the scandal first surfaced Anthony denied everything, but it was later noticed that he used Twitter to send the inappropriate messages. Since Twitter has access to anything anybody sends it was dug up and the media had evidence of the allegation, Anthony is now serving 21 months in federal prison. https://www.cnn.com/2017/09/25/politics/anthony-weiner-sentencing/index.html              ...
